Individual Therapy
I support clients in building empowered, healthy relationships to themselves, the people in their lives, and the world at large. I specialize in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), identity formation and self respect (including self-compassion and self-love), chronic stress, relational wellbeing, somatic issues, grief, religious trauma and deconstruction, issues of spirituality, parenting, depression, and anxiety.
In individual therapy, clients are supported in:
-
Developing a relationship with the therapist based on mutual respect, in which the therapist offers humility, curiosity, care, empathy, facilitation, guidance, and an exchange of feedback
-
Developing a sense of safety, orientation, and orientation to nourishment ("what's good") in the here-and-now
-
Metabolizing unprocessed grief, anger, stress, confusion, and specific wounds
-
Discussing and building on the life you want to live
-
Doing the above using therapy modalities that address your needs, for instance: Somatic Experiencing (SE), parts work (as in Internal Family Systems [IFS]), Organic Intelligence (OI), or Emotionally-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT)
As a practitioner, I take the physical, mental, and emotional distress, isolation, and lack of meaning resulting from the conditions of American culture seriously. I am a queer, cis, middle class woman who strives to embody cultural humility and awareness of systemic dynamics of privilege, power, and control. I take care to orient toward Indigenous, Black, disabled, and other marginalized and oppressed perspectives and histories to inform my worldviews.
